How to Trick Out Your iPhone's Status Bar by Replacing the Carrier Name with Custom Logos or Text
SoftModders are always looking for ways to stand apart from everyone else, whether it's getting a transparent dock background or adding extra app icons to your home screen. Different is always better.
Replacing your carrier name with a cool logo or custom text isn't a very conspicuous tweak, but it is definitely an alternative to what everyone else has. All you need to do is jailbreak your iPhone running iOS 7 and use a few Cydia apps to tweak the status bar, which I'll cover below.
In the past, we showed you a method for changing your carrier name in iOS 6 without jailbreaking, but it isn't compatible with iOS 7, and it was a huge pain in the ass to accomplish. It's actually quite easier to jailbreak your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch, then head on over to Cydia to install Zeppelin.
After your device resprings, go into settings and locate Zeppelin. Choose a logo, then enable—you're done.
Your device will not restart every time you change it, which is great.
I picked The Dark Knight symbol because I want to be like Christian Bale.
If symbols aren't your thing, here's a way to add a custom text. Like before, go to Cydia and install FakeCarrier.
This tweak will produce an actual app icon, so open it up after respringing, insert your text, and set.
You can change it as you please, and you won't be inconvenienced by it restarting every time you change it.
Enjoy making your friends do a double-take when they look at your phone.
