Shrink Your iPhone's Home Indicator Bar for a Cleaner Look

Two smartphones displaying apps on their screens, placed on a table next to a laptop.

The home bar first introduced on the iPhone X is a handy visual guide as you get accustomed to using gestures like swiping up to unlock or going back to the home screen. As you master the gestures, however, the home bar becomes less of an aid and more of an obstruction that you can't remove or resize, unless you've jailbroken your iPhone.

If you have a jailbroken iPhone X, XS or iPhone XR, you've long had the ability to remove your device's home bar outright thanks to Spark'sHideBarX tweak for a cleaner appearance overall. Unfortunately, you were out of luck if you wished to keep the indicator but set it in a much smaller form. With TinyBarX from CydiaGeek, you now have the ability to do just that.

Installing TinyBarX

The repo containing TinyBarX is natively available within both Cydia and Sileo, so to install the tweak, simply search for "TinyBarX" and tap the top result. From there, either hit either "Install" (Cydia) or "Get" (Sileo), and follow the prompts to wrap up with installation via respring.

After your iPhone resprings, TinyBarX will automatically kick in and give you a much smaller home indicator from here on out, with no further settings to configure. While the tweak doesn't have its own menu within the Settings app, you can easily find it within either Cydia or Sileo by accessing their "Installed" or "Packages" pages, respectively, should you wish to uninstall or update TinyBarX in the future.
