Apple Releases iOS 14.7 Beta 4, Fixes Battery Health Issue on iPhone 11 Line

Apple released the fourth beta for iOS 14.7 today, Tuesday, June 29. The update comes 15 days after iOS 14.7 beta 3, and restores battery service messages that may have disappeared after reboot on some iPhone 11 models.

Apple released this update to registered iOS developers at 10 a.m. PDT, the company's standard release time for iOS developer updates. Apple also released the public version of this beta today, three hours after the developer seed. This release schedule is normal for Apple, which seeds public testers their beta sometime three to 24 hours after the developer beta.

Battery Health: Resolved

  • Restored battery service messages that may have disappeared after reboot on some iPhone 11 models. (78844328, 79351111)

SKAdNetwork: Known Issues

  • Devices with the SKAdNetwork developer profile installed running iOS & iPadOS 14.7 beta 3 and later can send postbacks through a manually-configured HTTP proxy. How to Install the Latest iOS 14.7 Developer Beta on Your iPhone

You'll need an Apple developer account to update your iPhone. You can get the restore image from your dev portal, then install it with iTunes or Finder. Otherwise, install the configuration profile, then update by going to Settings –> General –> Software Update. Finally, you can simply wait for it to auto-install if you have a dev profile and "Automatic Updates" is enabled.

How to Install the Latest iOS 14.7 Public Beta on Your iPhone

To update your iPhone to iOS 14.7 public beta 4, sign up through Apple's beta site, download and install the configuration profile, then update over the air. If you already have the profile, go to Settings –> General –> Software Update, then tap "iOS 14.6" under "Also Available" to begin the installation of the latest beta build, or you can wait until it installs automatically if "Automatic Updates" is enabled.
