If you consider yourself an emoji master, you'll have to retrain yourself once you install iOS 14.5 on your iPhone. Why? Because there are 217 new ones available to incorporate into your sometimes cryptic emoji messages.
With iOS 14.5 (and iPadOS 14.5), released on April 26, Apple supports the new Unicode Emoji 13.1 update established in September 2020. Some non-Apple devices already have access to these 217 new emoji, such as Google Pixel smartphones, but let's be real: they look so much better on iPhones and iPad.
While there 217 new emoji in the Unicode Emoji 13.1 update, we've counted 226 changes to your emoji list in iOS 14.5. A few emoji received updates, like "Headphones" and "Bearded Man," that aren't included in that 217 count, and that's seven changes right there (accounting for skin tones).
The other two changes not listed in the original 217 are the new yellow gender-neutral "Couple Kissing" and "Couple with Heart" emoji. Technically, these emoji have been available since iOS 14.0, but they never appeared in the emoji list that you scroll through. Instead, you would have to search for "couple heart" or something similar to find them in iOS 14's new emoji search tool.

To reiterate: the gender-neutral kissing and heart couples did have yellow ones available before iOS 14.5, but you could not find them in the emoji list — you had to search for them by name to find them.
