Apple Just Released the First iOS 12.3 Developer Beta Today, Includes New TV App Logo & Apple TV Channels

It's an exciting time to be an Apple fan. Monday saw not only a major announcement of new Apple services and subscriptions but also the official release of iOS 12.2. If you're a beta tester, you probably watched 12.2's evolution over the last two months. Well, get ready to do it all over again — Apple just released the first developer beta for iOS 12.3 today, Wednesday, March 27.

The update adds a new icon for the TV app, and includes Apple TV Channels, as introduced by Apple on stage earlier this week. Beta testers will notice Apple TV Channels is a complete overhaul of the TV app, including the ability to watch subscription services without needing to leave the app.

The new iOS 12.3 developer beta likely features bug fixes for issues in previous versions of iOS, and possibly security patches for any known vulnerabilities. We can't know for sure, because Apple's release notes are blank for this update.

To download and update your iPhone to iOS 12.3 dev beta 1, you will first need to be a registered developer with a valid configuration profile. If you have iOS 12's "Automatic Updates" enabled, you can let the software update overnight. To install right away, launch the Settings app, select "General," then "Software Update." Tap "Download and Install," then follow the on-screen prompts.

Just updated your iPhone? You'll find new emoji, enhanced security, podcast transcripts, Apple Cash virtual numbers, and other useful features. There are even new additions hidden within Safari. Find out what's new and changed on your iPhone with the iOS 17.4 update.
