How To: Get Free Loot in Fortnite Battle Royale Using Your Amazon Prime Membership

Get Free Loot in Fortnite Battle Royale Using Your Amazon Prime Membership

Getting new loot can be challenging in Fortnite Battle Royale. Whether you decide to pay for the Battle Pass or stick with the Free Pass, you still need to put in 50+ hours to unlock all the items. For those of us with Amazon Prime subscriptions, there's another way to unlock free items, and it won't cost you an extra dime.

After purchasing Twitch, Amazon decided to expand the platform. One of the first changes they made was the creation of Twitch Prime, which is free with any existing Amazon Prime membership. With Twitch Prime, subscribers gain access to free in-game loot which fluctuates each month. Currently, the free loot is for Fortnite Battle Royale, and you can claim it right now using the following steps.

Step 1: Opt into Twitch Prime

You'll need to upgrade to Twitch Prime to gain access to the free in-game loot — but don't worry, it's free with an Amazon Prime membership. If you don't already have Amazon Prime, you can even sign up for a free 7-day trial and nab your loot, then cancel the membership without paying anything.

Once you've got your Amazon Prime membership squared away, head to this link. Next, select "connect your Twitch account" located near the right side of your screen, then sign in to your Amazon account when prompted.

After logging into Amazon Prime, you then be asked to log into your Twitch account. If you don't have a Twitch account, you can sign up for a free one here. After logging into both accounts, you will be brought to a page similar to the screenshot below. This page will indicate you successfully linked your accounts and you now have access to Twitch Prime and its benefits.

There's another method available to teenagers whose parents have Prime accounts. Select the "Learn More" button near the bottom of the account-linking page. Next, follow the instruction to send a message to your parents asking for access to Twitch Prime via Amazon. Once accepted, you can then connect your Twitch account and enjoy the benefits.

Step 2: Visit the Twitch Website

In order to obtain your loot, you need to visit the main Twitch website on either your mobile device or desktop. However, if you are using a smartphone, you'll need to enable desktop mode. Once on the desktop view of the page, log into your account if you haven't already.

Select the crown icon in the upper-right corner of your display (to the left of your username). Here, you'll find all the free games and loot available to Twitch Prime members. Locate Fortnite: Twitch Prime Pack in the list and select the "Epic Games" link. Scroll to the bottom of the next page and select "Have Twitch Prime."

You will then be asked if you've played Fortnite before — select "Yes, Find my Account." The next page will list the three platforms you can log into to claim your loot. As you may have noticed, iOS isn't an option, but this doesn't mean you can't get the new loot on your phone.

Thanks to Fortnite Battle Royale's cross-progression, iOS users can gain access to their account from other platforms. Whichever account you use to log into your iOS account, choose that platform sign-in. Follow the on-screen instructions which will eventually ask you to link your account with Twitch. Once linked, your loot will be available on both the platform you logged into and iOS.

Step 3: Claim Your New Loot

Next, open up Fortnite on your iPhone or iPad and select the coat hanger icon along the top of your screen. This will bring you to the Locker menu where all your loot is located. Starting March 29, there will be four new items available to anyone who followed the previous steps.

The items can be found by selecting each button under the Account and Equipment grouping, starting with the second item (a headshot of your character). Starting from the leftmost item, you will now have the Sub Commander outfit, Backup Plan back bling, Instigator Pickaxe, and Slipstream Glider. Select the new item to equip and enjoy your free loot.

For those struggling to unlock items or for folks who refuse to pay the $10 for Battle Pass, this is the easiest way to enjoy some new gear. No longer do you have to feel left out as you enter lobbies where it seems that every other player has cool new outfits and pickaxes. What do you think about the new loot?
